GEV Issue 5.0 Features The Napa Valley Opera House & Creations of Designer RJ Rivera
A few weeks ago, we accidentally stumbled into a Pandora station that whisked us back to a time of fond reminiscence – we savored the moment, listening to the emotionally charged music but were also truly saddened with the reminder that these kinds of songs may never be created or appreciated again. However, our desire for these rare compositions were given new life during a recent visit to the Napa Valley Opera House where we paid homage to a Hollywood in the waning days of the silent screen era when it was focused on the romanticism of classical and jazz musicals, and we couldn’t have come up with a much better team or venue.
Old-world glamour was showcased with the creations of designer RJ Rivera and the styling of Vintage shop owner Prince Kaleo of The Armoire Closet. If you love the musicals Victor Victoria, Singin’ in the Rain and Evita combined with memorable scenes from North by Northwest, Sunset Boulevard and The Fabulous Baker Boys – this fashion spread will restore your sensibilities and appreciation for the classic stylings and imagery woven into the fabric of our time.
