A16 San Francisco Celebrates Christmas Eve 2012 with a Traditional Italian “Feast of the Seven Fishes”

A16 and Executive Chef Christopher Thompson invite guests to a traditional Italian-style Feast of the Seven Fishes, on December 24, 2012. Believed to be centuries old, this Christmas Eve fete is a classic Italian celebration traditionally characterized by a lavish spread featuring seven different seafood dishes.

Chef Thompson’s modern interpretation will feature five courses  with menu items such as Swordfish Carpaccio with castelfranco, olio nuovo and roasted sweet peppers, Dungeness crab with fennel, pine nuts, water cress and grapefruit, and Chocolate budino with tangerine and caramel. The Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes is priced at $75 per person with optional $60 wine pairings.

A16 is named for the “autostrada” highway that runs from Naples to Canosa, Puglia in Southern Italy. Under the direction of Executive Chef Chris Thompson, A16 features fresh pasta, house-butchered and house-cured meats, and authentic Neapolitan pizza. Complementing the Southern Italian menu, Wine Director/Owner Shelley Lindgren offers wines that highlight the indigenous grapes from regions such as Campania, Sardinia, and Sicily.
