NFL 49er’s Art Gallery 85 Inauguration

NFL San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis held the inauguration of his Art Gallery 85 in Santana Row last December 10, 2012. Vernon Davis graced the Red Giving Carpet as he eagerly posed for the press together with fellow teammates quarterback Alex Smith and outside linebacker Aldon Smith. Jed York, owner of the 49ers, inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman and Trade Advisor to the US Department of Commerce and former White House Public Liaison, Teresa D. Cox were also there to show their support.

Wearing a $5,000 custom-made jacket from Franco Uomo, Davis commenced the evening with the ribbon cutting together with the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce. There were more than two hundred fifty guests invited to the event which were comprised of football players, artists, Silicon Valley CEO’s and press. Davis and other artists auctioned their artwork to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Vernon Davis Foundation of the Arts that provides art education for the youth.

Hors d’oeuvres and chocolate enticed the attendees admiring the artwork. Sponsors for the evening included San Francisco Shirt and Co., Franco Uomo, Cohiba Cigars from Santana Row and Capetown and South African wines by Peter Mugwagwa, Founder/ CEO of Clubspot Beverage.

The Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts vision statement promotes communities where the arts are vital to social development and represent a positive alternative for youth dealing with stress and peer pressure. Through the arts, youth can find new ways to express themselves, to lift their spirits and fulfill their dreams.
