Margrit Mondavi, vice president of cultural affairs for Robert Mondavi Winery, has pursued a life-long interest in uniting wine with fine arts, music and culinary artistry. With the enthusiastic support of her late husband, Robert Mondavi, she created a showplace for painters, sculptors, photographers, jazz and classical musicians and the great chefs and winemakers of the world. Recently, Mrs. Mondavi was presented with the prestigious Tiffany Sterling Silver Monteith Wine Bowl Trophy in recognition of her years of contributions to the growth and sustainability of the American wine industry. Mike Thompson, Co-Chairman of the Congressional Wine Caucus, presented this award to honor Margrit’s promotion of consumer education in the fields of wine, food and the arts. The Monteith Trophy is considered one of the most elegant and prestigious awards in the U.S. wine industry. The award was created in 1980 and Margrit is the 30th recipient.
