A Delicious Cruise to Remember

In an unassuming corner on deck 3 of the Celebrity Summit is a rare find; The Normandie Restaurant.  The moment you walk in you feel as though you have stepped back to a time of oceanic cruising opulence.  The elegant tables, the chandeliers and the view of the ocean just enhance the menu and the extensive wine list.   The staff is so attentive and professional, catering to your every need.

For an additional minimal fee, passengers can relax and enjoy 5-star dining while sailing the ocean.  The décor is very unique in that it came from the original SS Normandie, the restaurant’s namesake.

The food is magnificent and truly speaks for itself.  The Creamy Maine Lobster Bisque was so velvety. The chef chose the perfect compliments to the lobster and made this bisque a delight to the senses.  It was full of chunks of lobster accented by leeks, shallots and cognac cream.  The main course was a seared Veal Tenderloin that was so juicy and tender no knife was needed.  The steak was accompanied by Butternut Squash Puree and Brussel Sprouts that were so perfectly cooked and seasoned.  The Normandie Lobster was to die for!  Cooked tableside, it was a visionary delight topped only by the exquisite taste.  The mix of the fresh basil, applewood-smoked bacon and Dijon cream were so perfectly balanced you would swear the lobster came that way.

The dessert course was crepes cooked tableside as well.  Again, a very impressive display by the Demi-Chef and the taste knocks your socks off.  The strawberries in balsamic reduction were so wonderful.

This restaurant was a wonderful surprise.  You have a true dining experience, not just dinner.  You feel as though you are royalty. Celebrity Summit is a magnificent ship and the Normandie restaurant is the icing on the cake.
