The always-vibrant 1313 Main, Napa’s premium wine tasting lounge, opens Lulu’s Kitchen today, August 30, 2013 and a few days ago, we were able to sample some of the “wine-bar-bites” which is somewhat different from a traditional food and wine pairing ~ their flight experience with your choice of small plates, main courses, desserts and cheese plates gives every dish a different layer of flavor making it more enjoyable with every bite.

Lulu’s Kitchen offers diners a wide variety of options to complement the 1300+ wines on offer at 1313 Main on a daily basis, leveraging taste inspirations from around the globe. Signature dishes include Moxie Braised Pork Belly, Abalone Wontons, and the Burgundian-inspired classic Oeufs en Meurette, poached in 1313 Main’s own Cru 32 Pinot Noir. With Culinary Director Ryan Quigley and Executive Chef Isaac Coles leading the team, Lulu’s Kitchen adds a unique dining option to the Northside district of Downtown Napa. Following the adage “you are what you eat”, Lulu’s Kitchen offers a selection of small plates focusing on regional purveyors and local farms to supplement Lulu’s onsite garden. With locally sourced seasonal ingredients, the cuisine at Lulu’s Kitchen elevates the experience at 1313 Main in an elegant, intimate setting.

Proprietor Al Jabarin says, “Lulu’s completes the concept of 1313 Main as a wine-centric destination in the Napa Valley. With Lulu’s Kitchen at 1313 Main we add a new dimension to downtown Napa’s diverse culinary scene.” “The concept for Lulu’s Kitchen was born out of a need to find dishes that would really shine when paired with such an extensive wine list,” said Culinary Director Ryan Quigley. “It had to be fresh and creative to stand up to such a selection. I think we accomplished what we set out for and can’t wait to have people finally enjoy the cuisine.”

We at GEV Magazine are really pleased and impressed to witness the transformation of 1313 Main into a complete wine and culinary experience with the addition of Lulu’s kitchen.
