The First Annual Fort Ross – Seaview Wine Festival
The Fort Ross-Seaview Winegrowers Association announces that on Saturday, October 26th, wine lovers will have a rare opportunity to enjoy the acclaimed wines grown in Sonoma County’s newest American Viticultural Area of Fort Ross-Seaview. The event will take place at the historic Fort Ross State Park on an ocean terrace with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
The Grand Tasting will offer an unparalleled opportunity to enjoy the acclaimed cool climate coastal wines made with grapes grown on the steep ridges above Fort Ross, an area which many consider to be the finest cool climate wine growing region in the United States. Many of the wines being poured are highly allocated so it will be a great opportunity to taste these coastal cool wines side by side.
Grand Tasting 1– 4 PM
Among the wines presented will be those from the Martinelli Winery, whose family were among the first to plant grapes in the area, Pahlmeyer’s Wayfarer Vineyard, Del Dotto’s Cinghiale Vineyard, Daniel & Marion Schoenfeld’s Wild Hog Vineyard, Fort Ross Vineyard, Williams Selyem’s wines from Donny Schatzberg’s Vineyard and Tin Barn’s wine from the Coryelle Fields Vineyard.
Admission is $35 and will include entrance to the Fort Ross Harvest Festival and festival parking.
Grand Festival Luncheon 12 – 2.30 PM
There will be a separate Grand Reception at noon followed by a four course Luncheon prepared by renowned Sonoma County Chefs featuring local, fresh, seasonal ingredients from the Bounty of the Sonoma Coast. Featured Chefs will be Andrew and Liya Lin Truong, Executive Chefs and owners of the Michelin Star Restaurant, Terrapin Creek; Jeff Riley from the Duck Club at the Bodega Bay Lodge; Barbara Hom, Executive Chef of the Fort Ross Vineyard; and the well-known pastry Chef, Jenny Malicki. Each course has been carefully paired with a wine personally chosen by each Chef.
Admission is $95 and will include the Reception, 4-course Luncheon, Grand Tasting, entrance to the Fort Ross Harvest Festival and festival parking. Seating for the luncheon will be limited and admission is by advance reservation only.
The Grand Tasting and Luncheon are presented by the Fort Ross-Seaview Winegrowers Association in collaboration with the Fort Ross Conservancy, the Renova Fort Ross Foundation, the Sonoma County Winegrape Commission and the Exchange Bank of Sonoma.
Admission to the Fort Ross Harvest Festival, which takes place between 10 – 6 PM, presenting the arts, crafts, music and dance of the first settlers at the old Fort, will be included in the admission.
