The Holiday Season is upon us! For many, it’s truly the most wonderful time of the year. It’s a season of giving and sharing. It’s a season of fun and merrymaking.
Bubbles and Bling provided an excellent start to this celebration. A luxurious shopping soirée at the elegant St. Regis Hotel Grand Ballroom, guests browsed and shopped with champagne in hand. Tables with beautiful displays lined the ballroom luring shoppers. Featuring local designers, guests debated between stylish totes and clutches from Lynn Tallerico, and Carrie Dunham, dresses from Tart Collections and Lan Jaenicke’s elegant, luxurious cashmere jackets. Necklaces from Jennifer Montana Design hanging from gold branches like ornaments, colored stones from Haute Bride’s dazzling displays from Rocks with Soul, and precious gems from Padis Jewelry caught our eye.
Bling Patrol volunteers from the San Francisco Police Department, handsome and buff in their black t-shirts, walked around with trays showcasing handcrafted jewelry from Dekonti, unique earrings from Artstring and Kristi Yamaguchi’s athletic wear line Tsu.ya. A stunning array of items beckoned from the Silent Auction Table. Everything from vacations, week-end getaways, restaurant certificates, museum tickets, spa treatments to clothing were available to the highest bidders.
Busy Bees and Elisabeth W had an array of products promising to pamper and beautify. Chocolates by Essence from Chocolatier Nicole Gnutzman were paired with wines from Padis Vineyards. Refreshments from Duckhorn Vineyards, Sofia, La Marca, Gloria Ferrer and Domaine des Enfants ensured everyone had something to sip and savor with a selection of cured meats, cheese and fruit.
All proceeds from this fabulous event were to benefit Family House, a non-profit organization providing temporary housing to families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at the University of California San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital. Talented and dynamic CEO, Alexandra Morgan gave us an update on its goal to raise $40 Million to build a whole new facility in the Mission Bay, near UCSF Hospital. Residential services provided to qualifying families are entirely free of charge. Providing a home away from home, Family House strives to never turn a family away as it plans to more than double its current capacity in this new facility. Guest Speaker Heather Goin touched everyone with her heart-wrenching struggle with neuroblastoma, a pediatric cancer. She is a testimonial to the success of Family House.
To date, $23 million has been raised relying solely on generous contributions of individuals, foundations and corporations. To jumpstart the giving, on behalf of her husband Joe Montana, Jennifer Montana made a $25,000.00 donation. A family room will be named after them. Bubbles and Bling fashionistas, philanthropists and socialites showed their solidarity through the Raffle Drawing and Fund-A-Need. This year’s Fund-a-Need will try to create Christmas for over 40 families who would not be in a position to take care of their own Christmas, as they have more pressing things to attend to.
Kudos to the vibrant and energetic event co-chairs Michelle Molfino and Corey Hyde as they ignited the room with their energy and passion. What better way to start this Holiday Season than with a shopping spree that will make your Holiday and that of someone in need? Bravo!
