Owner/Chef Rick Hackett of Jack London Square’s Pan-American restaurant Bocanova, is continuing his monthly “Rick’s Supper Club” dinners in 2014, announcing the themes for February, March and April. Pulling inspiration from the Bay Area’s seasonal ingredients, purveyors and winemakers, the dinner series continues on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The family-style, five-course menu features Chef Rick’s Pan-American dishes accompanied by selected wine pairings. Supper Club guests can also purchase all wines served during the evening for below retail price.

Upcoming dates for “Rick’s Supper Club” include:

  • February 6, 2014: “Portuguese Wine Dinner”- Rick will take guests on a sojourn to the Old World. David Fetcho, Bocanova’s Wine Club Director, has put together an all Portuguese wine flight and Rick has created a menu to pair perfectly with the wines, pulling inspiration from Spain and Portugal with a New World touch. Marc West-Teixeira of Estate Wines LTD will attend the dinner to share his knowledge of the featured wines.
  • March 6, 2014: “Rick’s Birthday Dinner”- This month, celebrate Rick’s birthday with a special dinner. The evening’s menu will consist of his favorite dishes, ingredients, flavors and, of course, wines.
  • April 3, 2014: “Celebrate Malbec”- In honor of World Malbec Day on April 17, 2014, Rick will prepare a dinner to perfectly pair with the flavors of this South American wine, with different varietals of Malbec sampled throughout the evening.
