Farallon Restaurant Begins New Lunch Service

Beginning Tuesday, July 29, 2014 Farallon restaurant will offer a new lunch menu every Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. Reminiscent of Farallon’s popular happy hour, lunch service will offer guests a menu that blends casual and high-end fare from Chef/Co-owner Mark Franz and Executive Chef Ryan Simas. Perfect for those pressed for time as well as guests looking for a full afternoon meal, Farallon’s new lunch will be served in the iconic Jellyfish Lounge and Oyster Bar creating a unique under-the-sea backdrop.

Guests looking for a quick lunch break can try the Dungeness Crab Toast from the Little Bites section ($6); the Oven Baked Ricotta & Charcuterie from the Small Plates section ($10); or The Roll with buttered lobster on a brioche bun from the Large Plates section ($18). For a more lavish lunch, restaurant goers can enjoy the Bubbles & Caviar, a half dozen oyster opulence with caviar and a glass of Schramsburg Blanc de Blanc from Napa ($65).

Sweets from Executive Pastry Chef Terri Wu feature lighter treats like Sassafras Ice Milk, and Stone Fruit Galette with amaretto crème fraiche. Specialty cocktails, which can easily be made sans spirits, include twists on classics like the Mid-Day Mary with Belvedere Vodka, chipotle, and housemade Bloody Mary mix; Lynchburg Caddy with single barrel Jack Daniels, peaches, lemonade, and ice tea; and the Gin Ginny Ginger with Miller’s English Gin, mint, and ginger beer.

In addition to the new lunch menu, the Oyster Bar will feature fresh seafood options such as Dungeness Crab, chilled Main Lobster, and Oysters on the Half Shell, as well as simple raw preparations including Halibut Ceviche and Yellowtail Sashimi. Farallon’s happy hour will resume in the space following lunch at 3:00 pm with $6 specials on small bites, cocktails, beer and wine.

No reservations necessary and walk-ins are welcome as lunch is available on a first-come first-serve basis.
