Random Acts of Flowers Celebrates Expansion Into Silicon Valley
Random Acts of Flowers (RAF), a Knoxville, TN-based nonprofit organization that delivers smiles to neighbors in need in the form of repurposed floral arrangements, announced today it will kick off its expansion into the Silicon Valley area with a fundraising celebration and special floral delivery.
On Thursday, Nov. 13, supporters, volunteers and staff will gather at 6:00 pm at the Menlo Circus Club (190 Park Ln., Atherton) to launch RAF Silicon Valley. Guests will see centerpieces being created by local florists cocktail hour, hear a presentation about Random Acts of Flowers during the seated dinner, bid for several exciting packages in the live auction and cap off the night with a special musical performance by Street Corner Symphony.
“It’s remarkable how many people have been moved by the simple generosity of our mission.” said Larsen Jay, Random Acts of Flowers Founder and CEO. “In just a few years, we’ve repurposed tens of thousands of donated flowers that might otherwise have ended up in the trash and have delivered almost 55,000 smiles to people in hospitals, nursing homes and hospices. We’re now excited to extend the organization’s positive impact to the Silicon Valley area.”
All of the event’s flowers will be recycled and repurposed into beautiful bouquets and delivered by RAF supporters to residents of Lytton Gardens assisted living facility (437 Webster St., Palo Alto) at 10:00 am on Friday, Nov. 14.
The addition of RAF Silicon Valley marks the fourth expansion this year. In addition to the original branch in Knoxville, Random Acts of Flowers operates facilities in Greeneville, Tennessee and Pinellas County, Florida (Tampa Bay area). Additional expansion plans are underway in the Chicago, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Salt Lake City.Purchase tickets here
