The Return of Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center & Off the Grid: Picnic @ the Presidio

offgridOff the Grid, San Francisco’s premier organizer of weekly street food markets, is pleased to announce the return of two of their signature destinations events, Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center and Off the Grid: Picnic @ the Presidio.

On Sunday, March 1, Off the Grid welcomes patrons back to Off the Grid: Picnic @ the Presidio. Every Sunday until November 1, picnickers are invited to enjoy the Presidio’s lush Main Post lawn, spectacular views of the bay, and the historic scene of the old post. Specialty items from San Francisco’s favorite eateries and food trucks, Mimosa and Bloody Mary drink kits, and live music from an onsite DJ make this a stand-alone picnic experience.

Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center will kick off the 2015 season on Friday, March 6.  As the largest evening street food market in California, equipped with a picturesque backdrop of the San Francisco Bay, the market provides attendees with live music, an eclectic array of food vendors including seven new options in addition to 23 established favorites. The Friday night market invites patrons to enhance their delicious foodie experience with specialty brews from Magnolia as well as cocktail and wine pairings. In addition to pleasing the palate, Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center offers guests photo opportunities to capture the Friday night experience including the return of popular photo cutouts.

Food vendors joining Off the Grid: Picnic at the Presidio include Benedict Arnold’s Cholita Linda, Chotto, Clearly Kombucha, Cochon Volant, Crème Brulee Cart, Del Poplolo, DUM Truck, El Porteno, Fat Face, Fine and Rare, Fins on the Hood, Girl Friday, Grilled Cheez Guy, Little Green Cyclo, Kama Food Lab, Mendocino Gluten Free Baking Co, Nopalito, Nosh This, La Marcha, Pluck, Rosamunde, SAJJ, Skylight Snowballs, Slightly Skewed, Sugarfoot Grits, Three Twins Ice Cream, The Whole Beast, Wing Wings, and Yerena Farms.

New food vendors joining Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center include: 3-Sum Eats, CHICA, Frita’s Shack, Jula Truck Bobcha, T.Epiphany and Burma Bear. Returning vendors include: An the Go, Bacon Bacon, Bini’s Kitchen, Bok Ssam, Bombzie’s BBQ, Boneyard, The Chairman, Crème Brulee Cart, Curry Up Now, Drewski’s, El Sur, France Delices, Happy Dumplings, Jeepney Guy, Johnny Doughnuts, KoJa Kitchen, Lobsta Truck, Raj+Singh, Rocko’s Chocolate Tacos, Senor Sisig, Sugar & Spun, El Pipila and Taco Guys.

In addition to complimentary classic picnic amenities including bocce ball, Off the Grid: Picnic @ the Presidio offers yoga classes from “The Pad” and kids yoga from “It’s Yoga Kids”, as well as game rentals and activities from Sports Basement.  Blankets and Adirondack chairs are available to rent for a complete Picnic experience.

Off the Grid is proud to partner with the Presidio Trust; Off the Grid: Picnic at the Presidio, patrons are invited to enjoy the many activities within the Presidio, including 24 miles of hiking trails, eight scenic overlooks, sculptures by Andy Goldsworthy, the Walt Disney Family Museum, the Officer’s Club and Heritage Center, and neighboring restaurants. The Presidio Trust’s Design Lab in 103 Montgomery will also be open on Sundays. Drop in to share your thoughts about the New Presidio Parklands Project, a magnificent 13-acre landscape that will integrate the waterfront with the Presidio’s historic Main Post.

Returning for the second year is Off the Grid’s Artist in Residency Program celebrating the abundance of creativity in the Bay Area. Intended to introduce patrons to an eclectic mix of local artists, the Off the Grid Artist in Residency Program further enhances the energetic, community vibe of Fort Mason Center and rounds out the experience with some visual offerings. The season will have a total of four partners, each with two month residences, beginning with True SF and Oaklandish.

In addition to Off the Grid: Fort Mason Center, patrons can enjoy many activities within the FMC, including The Interval Bar, BATS Improv, Magic Theater, and San Francisco Children’s Art Center.
