Crusher Games II – A Playful Twist on the Typical Passport Wine Tasting Weekend
Napa’s newest…and perhaps coolest…wine district has announced the commencement of its Crusher Games II on June 20-21. The Crusher Wine District, a cutting-edge collective of edgy, urban wineries clustered in the walk-able industrial park area south of Napa, is hosting games as a special edition of the second in a series of Wine Hopper Weekends. Mobile ready passports are only $50/person each day, with 2-Day Passes available for $75 at Cellarpass.com.
Crush it! With a glass of wine in one hand, and a ping pong ball in the other, who needs bocce ball? The Crusher Wine District’s Crusher Games II is a playful twist on the typical wine tasting passport event, featuring whimsical and wacky games (think Wine Pong, Barrel Putt-Putt, Bung Bung Barrel Humani-Toss, etc.), amazing prizes, and great food over the Father’s Day weekend. That’s a value of over $250 to taste at several family-owned, small production wineries a stone’s throw away from downtown Napa, a gateway destination for “in-the-know” locals and savvy visitors.
There will also be a rally and after-party to celebrate the winners at the Champion’s Circle Concert, featuring Kingsborough. Just coming off a stellar wine country opening performance for ZZ Top, Kingsborough is a favorite local band heralding out of Santa Rosa, with a vibe that brings back the heart and soul of rock ‘n’ roll. The concert begins at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20 at Humanitas Wines, located at 25 Enterprise Court in Napa.
Many of the Crusher Wine District’s member wineries are open by appointment only, but they’ve opened their doors for special experiences at each winery as you “hop” (or bike! or walk!) from tasting to tasting for one inclusive fee. The wine tasting passport includes access to Avinodos, The Wine Foundry, Humanitas Wines, J. Moss,Spelletich Family Wine Company, The Trinitas Library, and Charles Woodson Wines*. Getaway Adventures of Napa (1-800-499-BIKE) is offering all Crusher Games ticketholders the rate of $30/day for a bike rental to tour the district in style on Specialized Cross Tour bikes with all the amenities needed for an enjoyable day of wine tasting.
The event will also be a gathering of favorite local food trucks, including Rebel-dog, scheduled to feed the hungry competitors over both days of the event. The Meritage Resort and Spa will feature a seasonal $24 prix fixe lunch at Siena, their signature restaurant with a Tuscan flair. Or, for a satisfying break for sustenance, The Meritage Resort’s breakfast, coffee, and lunch spot, Blend, will offer a boxed lunch to-go for those anxious to get back to the competition.
Start practicing your aim, balance and steely-eyed resolve to win your favorite winery’s special magnum of wine as you beat out the competition at Wine Pong, Bung Bung Barrel Humani-Toss and Barrel Putt-Putt! In the spirit of the new “Wine Hopper Weekends” and with the addition of so many new wineries this year, the Crusher Wine District plans two more weekends of wine tasting and fun in the Crusher Wine District on August 8-9 and November 7-8. Don’t miss what’s happening in the edgy, urban, and unexpected side of Napa Valley.
