Mochica celebrates Peruvian Independence Day with Piscofest

In honor of Peruvian Independence Day on July 28, Chef Carlos Altamirano’s Potrero Hill restaurant Mochica is hosting Piscofest, a range of pisco-inspired experiences and specials from Saturday, July 25, through Wednesday, July 29. The event series kicks off with Opening Night on The Hill on July 25, featuring a local house DJ, and continues with Peruvian brunch specials and pisco brunch cocktails on July 26, and pisco-cocktail paired appetizers July 27 and 28. The inaugural Piscofest concludes with Pisco Night on the Hill on July 29, which includes a special talk by pisco connoisseur Miguel Solari and is complemented by a pisco tasting flight, three pisco cocktails, and three appetizer bites for $35.

Celebrating Peruvian Independence Day, the recent acquisition of Mochica’s entertainment license and the kickoff of Piscofest, a local house DJ will be spinning dance tunes to get the Potrero Hill neighborhood moving.

Pisco Independence Brunch
Peruvian brunch specials, such as French Toast with pisco-soaked berries and pisco whipped cream and a pisco Bloody Mary with roasted rocoto peppers, will be offered on the a la carte brunch menu, accompanied by a live, traditional Peruvian Crillo musician.

Pisco connoisseur Miguel Solari will be on hand to discuss the basics of pisco, its rich history, and the special relationship San Francisco has with the grape-based spirit. The event will feature a flight of three, one-ounce pours of pisco, three pisco cocktails, and three appetizer bites. Reservations for dinner are available following the event.
