Joanne Weir Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary of Agave Girls

 

KG_pg271bOn Tuesday, February 23, a very special Agave Girls will take place at Copita Tequileria y Comida in Sausalito, as Joanne Weir, author of Kitchen Gypsy: Recipes and Stories from a Lifelong Romance with Food, TV personality, James Beard award-winning cookbook author and the original Agave Girl, celebrates a decade of tequila, tasting and fun. Joanne Weir’s Agave Girls offers women a celebratory environment to enjoy and appreciate the flavor and history of tequila.  Joanne Weir started talking about tequila in 2006. She was delighted to learn that, like her, many women don’t just like tequila, they love it: They savor it with meals; drink it slowly from a snifter; mix it with seasonal ingredients in experimental cocktails. Fueled by this realization, Weir created Agave Girls- to help these women share their enthusiasm for fine tequila.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., Agave Girls will enjoy passed appetizers and a tasting flight of tequila, followed by a three-course dinner paired with tequila cocktails.  Below are the full details.

Who: Copita Tequileria y Comida is the vision of legendary restaurateur, Larry Mindel, and San Francisco food personality and cookbook author, Joanne Weir. Located in the heart of downtown Sausalito, California, Copita is a neighborhood restaurant, serving seasonal contemporary Mexican cuisine.  A well-curated tequila list and a number of tequila cocktails round out the experience. Copita is open every day beginning at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and weekends at 10 a.m.
