La Toque Honors Judgment of Paris 40th Anniversary with Flight Featuring Current Vintages of Winners
In honor of the 40th anniversary of the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976, or the Judgment of Paris, La Toque at The Westin Verasa Napa is offering a special flight of current vintages of the most honored wines at the blind tasting. The Judgment of Paris was a wine competition on May 24, 1976 in which French judges conducted two blind tasting comparisons: one of top Chardonnays and the other of Bordeaux vintages from France and Cabernet Sauvignon vintages from California. The top three winners in the red wine category were the Bay Area’s Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars S.L.V. 1973, Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello 1971, and Heitz Cellar Martha’s Vineyard 1970.
For $125, Michelin-starred La Toque will offer 3 oz. pours using the restaurant’s Coravin wine preservation system of the current vintages from the winners: Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars S.L.V. 2012, Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello 2012 and Heitz Cellar Martha’s Vineyard 2010.
This tasting will be available until May 24, 2016. La Toque is located at 1314 Mckinstry St. Napa CA 94559 open from 5:30 – 9:00 pm.
