Volta Launches Weekend Brunch, Happy Hour and The Volta Lunch

Volta, located in the bustling SOMA Downtown neighborhood, kicks-off summer with the launch of weekend brunch and brand new menus, including a new two-course prix fixe lunch and a new happy hour and a bar snack menu. The modern brasserie continues to offer a menu focused on French tradition with influences from Scandinavia, in addition to adding new flavors and flare to the current selection. Volta recently earned a 3-star review from the San Francisco Chronicle and placement within the coveted “Top 100 Restaurants in the Bay Area” ranking. The team is excited to bring these new additions to the restaurant and lively neighborhood.

WEEKEND BRUNCH

Volta is thrilled to introduce brunch, available Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The new menu features a variety of sweet and savory dishes. Taking on the savory side of the menu, Executive Chef Staffan Terje and Chef de Cuisine Keven Wilson have put a spin on traditional brunch items with dishes such as Poached Eggs (smoked salmon, sautéed spinach, and pain de mie dill hollandaise); Baked Egg (jambon marmalade, béchamel sauce, croutons), along with their Tartine (toasted levain, wild mushroom ragout, jambon de paris, and an egg yolk red wine reduction) and the Volta Burger (dry-aged beef, gruyere cheese, little gem lettuce, caramelized onion, dijonnaise, frites).Pastry Chef Laura Cronin anchors the sweets section of the menu featuring Crêpe Torte (whipped cream, cloudberry and blueberry)Bostock (rum soaked brioche, frangipane and almonds); and Gallete (apricot, roasted strawberry, and fromage blanc). 

Brunch cocktails complement the menu, including the Bloody Viking (Aquavit private reserve, game ode dill aquavit, Volta bloody mary mix, cornichons) and the By George! (St. George botanivore gin, aperol, sparkling wine, grapefruit juice), along with non-alcoholic options including the Lingon Palmer (iced tea, fresh lemonade, lingo berries) and the Volta Strawberry Lemonade (fresh lemonade, strawberry puree). The full brunch menu can be viewed here.

THE VOLTA LUNCH

In addition to the full a la carte lunch menu, Volta has launched a new prix fixe lunch menu, ‘The Volta Lunch,’ available for $22 Monday through Friday.  The two-course menu features choices for appetizers including the Mixed Green Salad (whipped chevre, pain de mie crumbs); Crème do Cepes (roasted wild mushroom soup, ramps); or Herring X 3 (tasting prepared three ways: traditional pickled, mustard dill, beet herring salad with crisp bread, dill butter, and grevé cheese). Selections of larger plates are offered for the second course including the Chicken Breast Paillard (endive and watercress salad, lemon-esplette pepper butter)Gnocchi (pan fried herb gnocchi, snap peas, fines herbes butter); or Köttbullar (swedish beef and pork meatballs, pan sauce, potatoe purée, lingon berries, and pressed cucumber).

HAPPY HOUR(S)

Evenings at Volta are happier than ever with the kick-off of a new Happy Hour and Bar Snacks menu, available at the bar Monday through Friday from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. The Bar Snacks menu features a twist on classic bar food, including a selection of $5 bites such as the Chicken Wing Confit (lemon-esplette pepper) and Couenne de Porc (crispy pork skin with French onion dip), in addition to two signature burgers, the Volta Burger (dry-aged beef, gruyere cheese, little gem lettuce, caramelized onion, dijonnaise, frites) and the Saint Tropez Burger (topless with bronzed bottom and a sunny side egg, green peppercorn sauces, frites).Pair the bar snacks with happy hour beverages including $8 wines, $4 craft beers, or $9 cocktails.   The full Happy Hour and Bar Snacks menu can be viewed here.
