Wonderful Witchy Women with a Cause

Wonderful Witchy Women With a Cause presents its 11th annual fundraising luncheon “Brewing Happiness.” For the past ten years, over 50 local volunteers under the umbrella non-profit organization, Bella Vista League, has put on a unique luncheon with a silent auction in order to raise money to assist local women, children, and families in need. The organization has raised over $1.5 million dollars for local charities since its inception in 2005. Wonderful Witchy Women With a Cause will take place Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Fairmont Hotel, 170 S Market, San Jose. For tickets and more information, the public may visit wonderfulwitchywomen.com or call 408-838-1603.

At this fall extravaganza, guests will enjoy a gourmet luncheon catered by the Fairmont, have the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind auction items, and listen to presentations by speakers representing the three charities. This year’s auction items include signature events, such as a French Arias Dinner, a flight over the Bay Area in a private plane with fine champagne, and a Santana Row Girls Day Out. Signature travel auction items include trips, such as a La Quinta Getaway, a Tuscan Culinary Escape and K Kentucky Bourbon Trail Tour and Tasting. Attendees will also have the chance to win a beautiful piece of jewelry from Joe Escobar Diamonds.

Each year, the Board chooses three charities to sponsor, and this year’s charities include the following:

CASSY is a Bay Area non-profit that provides a mental health safety net to local school children. Paid therapists are on-site at local schools in order to provide a holistic approach to mental health services. With therapists on site all day from 8:00-4:00, they provide individual, family, and group therapy and tailor the support they give to each school’s needs.

WANDA’s mission is to increase the economic self-sufficiency of single mothers in Silicon Valley. By helping one single mother at a time, they strive to break the cycle of poverty. Women are assisted to achieve economic goals, such as paying to complete their college educations, saving for their children’s educations, accumulating money for their retirement or buying a home.

My New Red Shoes provides a new pair of shoes for Bay Area children in need and gives them the ability to go back-to-school shopping for some new clothes to start out the school year in a positive way. Partnering with Old Navy, they were able to serve 10,000 children last year.

Bella Vista League founder, Cheryl Bailey, was inspired during a sermon years ago to help the less fortunate in her community. Her first event was a fundraising luncheon during the Halloween season where a few of her friends donned lovely and creative witch hats while joining for a common cause. The event has grown from 20 to over 550 attendees. Each year, attendees leave inspired by the emotional stories of the charities’ representatives and the warm feeling of helping others in need while attending a fun and unique event.
