The Beazley House | Wine Country Lodging in Napa

Listening to Jim and Carol’s story recounting The Beazley House history almost sounded like a movie waiting to happen. It was a rainy morning and I just finished the last spoonfuls of one of the most remarkable breakfast spreads I had tasted in months. Carol prepared her signature Eggs Benedict dish over potatoes sautéed with dill, basil and sundried tomatoes coupled with fresh yoghurt, fruits and homemade granola – a concoction that definitely beats any Whole Foods specialty mélange. I was delighted that the warm couple had a few moments to spare that morning for a little tête-à-tête beside the fireplace. This was my first time to experience a “Bed & Breakfast” accommodations and I remember asking myself the night before why I never thought about doing this type of weekend getaway in the past with my husband. I am on a mission to explore and understandNapa, its quaint and charming culture and discover why so many gather to see, taste, feel and partake in its local activities. I fell in love with the valley and I am determined to find out why the region has a total aphrodisiac effect on all my senses. I am in great company.

Founded almost 30 years ago, The Beazley House is the very first Bed and Breakfast inNapa. “We have lived in a number of states and have been constantly looking for a place to retire. And then we saw this place and it immediately just felt like home,” says Carol. Jim adds, “A lot of folks then thought it was such a mad idea for us to restore this 1902 house and turn it into a Bed and Breakfast but we paid no mind to them. We found this little gem and sold everything we had so we could acquire this place and follow our passion.” And the rest is history. The Beazley House has been voted Napa’s Best B&B for 11 years in a row by the listeners of KVON/KVYN.

The Beazley’s have always been quick to add the amenities which they found their guests desired. It has 11 rooms with its own private baths and garden views. Six of the rooms have fireplaces and five have private, two-person spas. The house, surrounded with lush greenery, is also walking distance from downtown Napa. Carol, who was originally involved in the hospice care industry, overlooks and is in charge of daily operations while Jim is most often the one out there involved in the neighborhood’s social events and activities.
