ABOUT TUAN TRAN

Tuan Tran was born in Vietnam, immigrating to the United States in 1975. Studying the ancient art of Ikebana for 25 years, he is always bringing these new elements to his sculpture creations.  He has conducted workshops and live demonstrations of the art of  Ikebana around the world. Creativity and innovation contribute to his success, bringing elements and approaches that have entertained and endeared him to the worldwide Ikebana community.

Tuan discovered the use of telephone wire in his art through the variety of colors and textures were fascinating. He began creating hanging wire sculptures from this extraordinary material. Soon, these sculptures inspired him to use the form and color combinations to create unique dresses and men’s garments that imbue beauty and movement. Dresses are a natural extension of Tuan’s artistic achievement, manifesting his fascination with fashion, art and recycled wire.  While Ikebana flower arrangements are temporary, he found the WireWear as an art that lasts.

Tuan says of his creations, “Life is colorful.I am colorful. Art reflects life. My art reflects me.  Colors as reflected in thread, wire, paper are my pallet.  Débuting  the complete WireWear couture collection is a dream come true for me.  The material and structure are stunning and have captured the interest of people around the planet.  Each piece is individually designed and hand crafted.  They are truly one-of-a-kind, as am I.”
