The Vernon and Vontae Davis Family Foundation held its inaugural fundraising event last March 31st at the Hamlin Mansion in San Francisco. Donald Strickland, Cornerback from the New York Jets, Keith Mitchell, former Linebacker from the New Orleans Saints, Delanie Walker, Tight end from the 49ers were among the many football players who graciously supported the event.

49ers Tight end, Vernon Davis was the eldest among seven children raised by his grandmother in a modest three bedroom home in Washington D.C. Although he played football in High School, Vernon’s passion was to pursue Art. In the beginning, Vernon was embarrassed that his peers would make fun of him, but he eventually switched majors in college to fulfill his ultimate dream. As his life transformed, Vernon’s next goal was to bring change in people’s lives. This encouraged his brother, Vontae, Cornerback of the Miami Dolphins and him to open the Vernon and Vontae Davis Family Foundation last 2011. The foundation supports parents suffering from addiction, assisting kids to live healthy lifestyles and providing visual arts college scholarships to seniors in the San Francisco district.
