Slow Food’s Fresh Food Picnic

Slow Food Revolution Founder Carlo Petrini

On September 15, Sonoma will host powerhouse lineup of international, SF and greater Bay Area food luminaries speaking and cooking – including Slow Food founder Carlo Petrini (coming in from Italy), Alice Waters, Nikki Henderson (Oakland’s People’s Grocery) as keynote speakers and a team of some of the region’s top chefs preparing a family-style feast lead by Chef Dennis Lee.

In addition to showcasing the best of local, good, clean and delicious food, the Picnic also provides an important opportunity to set the table for a broader conversation about where we are going in this country with fresh, local, organic food and how to advance this movement deeper into the culture of our communities — and where key food advocacy and justice organizations like Slow Food, Roots of Change, LandPath and others fit in (especially here in CA). The event will benefit Slow Food’s 1,000 Gardens in Africa and California Slow Food educational initiatives. Slow Food’s Fresh Food Picnic is expected to draw about 500 foodies from the Bay Area – especially those who care about continued access to good, clean, fair food.

When: September 15, 11AM – 6PM
