Oakland’s Bocanova Celebrates Christmas Eve and New Year’s with Pan-American Flair

In celebration of the winter holidays, Bocanova will be throwing a Christmas Eve Crab Feast and a New Year’s Eve Argentine “Asado,” or festive barbeque. Both meals will feature five-course, family-style menus, specially created by Chef/Owner Rick Hackett and Executive Chef John Ledbetter for one night only.

The Christmas Eve Crab Feast will feature Dungeness crab in several preparations including a Dungeness Crab Tamale with cucumber salsa, and a Dungeness Crab Louis Salad with pickled beets, paired with dishes such as Onion Gratin with aji Amarillo, and Wilted Arugula with spiced pumpkin seeds. For dessert, guests will be served a Spicy Ginger Bread Pudding Cake with persimmon whipped cream. The Christmas Eve Crab Feast is priced at $68 per person.

Bocanova’s New Year’s Eve Argentine “Asado” takes inspiration from the traditional barbeque feasts of Argentina. Guests will enjoy savory dishes such as Assorted Sausages with house-made condiments and Marinated Prime Rib Eye with Argentine red sauce and garlic chips. The final course will feature a dessert of Pumpkin Tart Tatin with candied cranberries, accompanied by house-made chocolates, and paired with a glass of sparkling Torrontes dessert wine. The New Year’s Eve Argentine “Asado” is priced at $78 per person inclusive of food and a glass of sparkling wine.
