A16 Presents Puglia-Inspired Dinner on February 4

A16 and Executive Chef Rocky Maselli of the upcoming A16 Rockridge, welcome Chef Luigi Chirico of Masseria Quis Ut Deus for a special Puglia-inspired dinner on Monday, February 4, 2013. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the historic four-star property in Italy and preview dishes from A16 Rockridge.

Chef Maselli and Chef Chirico will create a collaborative menu inspired by the Puglia region of Italy. The special à la carte dinner menu will feature ingredients local to the area and wine pairings selected by Shelley Lindgren.

Built in 1710, Masseria Quis Ut Deus is a quaint, four-star resort located near the heart of Puglia, Italy. The historic property provides an exclusive retreat for guests, from the pleasant and relaxing spa to the authentic and genuine food created by in-house Chef Luigi Chirico. Surrounded by ancient olive trees, the “masseria” was once a working farmhouse. Centuries later, the rustic yet elegant farmhouse has been renovated but seems to stand still with time.

A16 is named for the “autostrada” highway that runs from Naples to Canosa, Puglia in Southern Italy. Under the direction of Executive Chef Christopher Thompson, A16 features fresh pasta, house-butchered and house-cured meats, and authentic Neapolitan pizza. Complementing the Southern Italian menu, Wine Director/Owner Shelley Lindgren offers wines that highlight the indigenous grapes from regions such as Campania, Sardinia, and Sicily.
