Punta Mita Beach Festival 2013 Concludes with Great Success

Located on one of the most exclusive beaches in all of Mexico, The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, in conjunction with Punta Mita, Punta Mita Expeditions, and The Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau, presented this past 4th of July weekend the inaugural Punta Mita Beach Festival 2013. The much anticipated Beach Festival kicked-off its celebrations and events on July 4th with an opening party presented by Jaguar Land Rover. The spectacular cocktail event attracted more than 200 visitors who dined on the illuminated shores of the resort. Following the success of the inaugural Punta Mita Beach Festival, The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort has announced that next year’s celebrations will take place Thursday, July 3, through Sunday, July 6, 2014.

Among some of the special guests who attended the Punta Mita Beach Festival were Mexican celebrities, such as: Eiza GonzalezSilvia Navarro and Gerrardo CasanovaTony Daltonand Sarahi CastilloDominika Paleta and Fabian IbarraJavier and Stephanie Alvarez from Guadalajara and Linda Cherem and Karla Cortina from Mexico City, who participated in the closing ceremony on July 7 with an opulent dinner presented by Del Valle Reserva and a special wine pairing by Chef Linda Cherem.

The exciting celebration, sponsored by luxury brands such as 212 Men by Carolina Herrera, Hawaiian Tropic, St. Pellegrino, Heineken, Vitamin Water, Del Valle Reserva, Jaguar Land Rover, Grey Goose Vodka, Tequila Maestro Tequilero, among others, invited guests to enjoy the beauty of the resort’s beaches and shores. The activities during the festivities such as surf, stand up paddle, stand-up paddle yoga, sandcastle building, became unforgettable experiences in one of the most exclusive resorts in the country.

The Punta Mita Beach Festival 2013 presented the unique participation of world renowned chefs such as Chef Sylvain Debois, Executive Chef at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, who prepared a lavish Hawaiian luau on the beach accompanied by a gourmet BBQ by celebrity chef Diane Dimeo.

In addition to enjoying phenomenal cuisine, guests took pleasure in participating in the numerous sports activities offered during the Beach Festival such as stand up paddle yoga and beach yoga. In addition to these activities, surfing lessons for beginners and advanced surfers were given by Márgaro Ramos; stand up paddle lessons were offered by Mexican professional Javier Alvarez, who also participated in the two and five kilometre race which started at the Sea Breeze Beach Club organized by Punta Mita Expeditions; and a sandcastle competition along with delicious meals and gourmet hamburgers at Sea Breeze beach were prepared by St. Regis Chef, Hugo Gutierrez.

Open Division

  • 1st place – Javier Jimenez
  • 2nd place – Hector Gonzalez
  • 3rd place – Felipe Hernandez

The winners in the 2 KM Race were:

  • 3rd place – Marco Alvarez

During all of the activities, refreshing beverages were provided by Glacéau Vitamin Water,  offering guests a lounge area with natural fresh fruit smoothies , mini golf games, jenga and giant twister , all while enjoying the summer sun and the pristine beaches.

The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort offered guests delicious and innovative cocktails created by top mixologist Oliver Atkins, while reggae beats filled the air, creating the perfect summer ambiance.
