Barneys New York Honors Leo Villareal and The Bay Lights

Last night, Barneys New York  in San Francisco along with Sloan and Roger Barnett, Alison and Mark Pincus, Sabrina Buell and Yves Behar, Mimi Haas, and Lisa and John Pritzker, honored and toasted to internationally renowned artist Leo Villareal who designed The Bay Lights – a privately funded, public work of art and presented by San Francisco-based nonprofit Illuminate the Arts. 1.8 miles wide and 500 feet high, this stunning contemporary art experience is created with 25,000 individually programmed white LED lights that shine in never-repeating patterns from dusk ‘til dawn on the San Francisco Bay Bridge West Span. The light sculpture is streamed live nightly at and a campaign to make The Bay Lights permanent is currently underway. Barneys New York donated 10% of all sales yesterday to Illuminate the Arts.

Important guests in attendance were Alex and Tatum Getty, Marissa Mayer and Zack Bogue, Randi Fisher, Pam Baer, Bita Daryabari and Reza Malek, Carolyn Chang and Patrick King.
